Fujisan Onsen Hotel Kaneyamaen

"This hotel experience from check in to check out was exemplary. Our room was a delight, comfortable, direct view of Fuji, the lounging bed by the window, the amenities in the room and the Japanese customs that we were to experience were all outstanding. Our private outdoor mineral bath was wonderful. We really enjoyed the special dinner with many courses of mostly new foods that we never had before. Exquisite. What a treat. We would definitely make it a point when returning to Japan to plan more days here to enjoy the beautiful gardens and atmosphere. Thank you so much."

"It is just a lovely retreat in a beautiful location. The hotel rooms are a lovely minimalist Japanese design, and the staff couldn't be more helpful. I wish we had more time to stay here longer, and it's one of the very few places I would absolutely return to without hesitation."

"I absolutely loved this hotel- I've been to 6 of the 7 continents and I've stayed in some really nice places. This hotel is equal to or grater than any of the other places. The location, rooms, grounds, and staff were some of the best I've ever experienced. If you want a true taste of "old Japanese" culture, this is it."

"Location is nice. Close proximity to the bus stop with a Family Mart right next door. 10 min bus ride to the ropeway. The rooms are big and the private onsen was the perfect way to start the morning and relax after a day outdoors. Beer on tap & you can mix your own drinks. Non-alcoholic drinks also available and refreshing."

"The Onsen (hot spring facilities) was fantastic, especially after a long journey. Breakfast and dinner buffet were excellent. Mostly Japanese food but there are a few choices for those who don't like Japanese food. For me, the meals were great. Sushi, Sashimi, lots of different choices. A true test of Japan. Never had the same thing twice as there were too many choices. Not to mention they had beer, sake and some other alcohols available as part of the buffet. Didn't see anyone abusing the access which is good. The only thing to mention is if you are traveling from Tokyo and are returning there, it would be good to only take a smaller portion of your belongings (send your larger cases to your next hotel) as the rooms are not equipped with closets or drawers so you will be living out of your suitcase. Really wasn't a problem with our two large suitcases. Nice walking path in the back of the facility. Strongly recommend taking a taxi or uber from the train station with your suitcases. We road the bus there which was standing room only along a a very twisty mountain road, OVERALL - WONDERFULL"

"We enjoyed our stay - the rooftop with a view of Fuji was excellent! Location was nice too, a bit of a walk from the train and the shuttle was only available if we waited 30 min - that was the only bummer but we ended up walking and all was fine."
