The property is quite isolated from the rest of gotemba. $20 taxi to Outlet Mall. $20 taxi to train station. If I were to do it again I would have chosen differently. Staff are pleasant and fluent in English.

The hotel is located on a mountain, with a magnificent view of Mount Fuji and Gotemba City. The hotel has a unique appearance. My favorite is the public onsen, which is very bright and overlooks Mount Fuji. However, the room decoration is relatively old and the cleanliness is acceptable. The front desk staff was very attentive and tried their best to help and answer our questions. Since it's about an 8-10 minute drive from the outlet, it's most suitable for traveling by your car instead of taking public transportation.

Onsen fees

Beware: hotel charges each person ¥150 a night whether you use the onsen or not. And this was not stated in the information of the hotel. Had a rude shock when we check out. It was also not highlighted by the receptionist when we check in. Otherwise the hotel is not too bad. With a nice view of Mount Fuji if you got the right room.

The number one positive is the unparalleled views of Mt Fuji. We enjoyed the spacious room, and wish the weather had permitted use of the deck. Guest lounge area was very much appreciated, with free coffee. The onset was very nice, and enjoyed using it. The biggest con is that there is nothing near by. No shopping , food , services, or public transport that aren’t a $20 cab ride away. The hotel is in need of refurbishing. Years of use and weather have deteriorated the structure. If you have your own transportation, and are looking for a remote location, then it may suit your purposes

The staffs are helpful, friendly and speak English well. The room is big and comfortable even for four adults. The ryokan includes 1 hot pool and 1 cold pool indoor, 2 hot pools out door. The view of mount Fuji from outdoor pool is fantastic! There is also a sauna room included. The breakfast is great! A downside is that the futon is old and clumpy. Not the fluffy one that I was looking forward to. Another downside is that the laundry room is in a corner of the carpark. Although the laundry service is free, the washing machine and dryers are old.
