"Waking up to a direct view of the Sapporo TV Tower is a real highlight of this stay. The hotel is also conveniently located just steps from an underground passageway, making it easy to get around. Breakfast has a fair variety of options. While the room feels a bit tight for a family, the addition of a bathtub is a thoughtful feature that elevates the overall experience. Overall, a very enjoyable stay."

"Hotel Nord Otaru is located across the street from the canal. It has a good view of the canal, but the ocean view is far away and unimpressive. The rooms are dated. Our shower room smelled like mildew and there was some visible mold on the ceiling. The room size is larger than typical for Japan. The breakfast buffet was mediocre but convenient. The Hokkaido ramen was good. The bar upstairs had a nice ambiance but they were out of several types of alcohol and their signature cocktail. It’s about an 11 minute walk to Otaru Station and about 28 minutes to the Mount Tengu Ropeway. "

"It is very close to Sapporo Station which is convenient for coming in and out of the city from Chitose Airport and commuting around the city. The property is clean with a more than sufficient amenities. The only problem I had was the smell of diesel on the 1st and 2nd floor, which was off-putting."
