A great place to stay if you are flying late into or have an early flight out of CTS. Hotel is dated, but very clean. Very convenient to shopping and dining at CTS depending on the time of day you are there. Restaurants and shops closes by 9p.

Nice and convenient

Convenient location. Just 2 min walk to the scenic Otaru canal, and lots of nice restaurants. Hotel staff is nice, speaks good English, and has arranged Japanese style room with tatami as requested. Great fun for a family!

The STAFF are amazing they were the BEST, helped all the time. We only stayed one night but would stay again. Having the breakfast food option was great too.

The Authent Hotel is a lovely hotel. I had a room on the top corner overlooking the street and it was spacious and nice. Very comfortable bed. Breakfast is traditional Japanese style, with a couple of options to choose from. I had a beautiful sashimi bowl, with miso soup and another dish I’m not familiar with.

Racist and Rude Manager

Do not book this hotel if you have any standards for yourself. This hotel is very dated and it smells terrible. They have a room for smoking. Yet the entire hall way smells like mold and cigarette smoke. Every night we rushed through the halls to get to our rooms. Thank goodness we brought fragrance spray to help our room with the atrocious odors. As for management, the manager is extremely racist and rude. Aside from his egregious racist attitude, he refused to give us extra pillows because I have neck pain issues. They weren’t any help with Yamato Transportation. Every hotel we have stayed at in Japan (Fukuoka, Kyoto, and Tokyo) have assisted us with Yamato Luggage. This hotel was the exception. We had great experiences at every hotel in our trip around Japan but this hotel! I would give it a complete F!

The front desk agent, Ms Umeda helped me a lot when I had a trouble. She helped me and save my Japan trip! Thank you so much!! This is our second time to stay at Authent Hotel, convenient location and loved the Polo Star top lounge. Nice view and so relaxing after long walking sightseeing.

Very good hotel. Service was great. Check out the bakery for some nice Japanese style breads in the morning. Major Otaru attractions are a short walk away. Elevators could be very busy during high traffic times.
