Oaks Melbourne on Market Hotel

Oaks Melbourne on Market Hotel

8/10 Good
"Walkable and convenient location, but if you need them, trams to and from the CBD and train stations are one minute walk away. Pool, sauna, spa and gym excellent. Room spacious and comfortable, with kitchenette very useful for longer stays. My issue was with the outdoor terrace, which is the front-page photo on the website. Armed with a drink and a book, I really wanted to sit in the sunshine for an hour but was told the terrace was not available to hotel guests, and was only used for conference/meeting delegates. If you are going to use the photo to entice guests to stay, surely they must be permitted to use it. To say it is locked and unavailable was extremely disappointing and bad form. The Oaks brand is better than this. Either delete the outdoor terrace photo, or label it (e.g. for conference use) or allow guests to use it. Perhaps I can return for another stay and find this has been rectified."
