「A cheap and cheerful night on the outskirts of Derby. The hotel is rather hidden away and not well signposted. I checked in, room was clean with tea/coffee available. The rooms are single storey, bungalow style There is parking right outside of the rooms」

「Unfortunately, the room didn’t make the best first impression. On arrival, there were two used bath sheets and a T-shirt left by the front door. Once inside, I noticed hairs throughout the carpet, on the bed and around the room. There was also a thick layer of dust on top of the headboard, which was particularly concerning as I’m very sensitive to dust mites. The room lacked basic information about hotel amenities, services and breakfast times/location; the only information provided was the...

「The staff were ok. The room was like going back in time. The furniture was discoloured and very dated. The bathroom was not great. Very disappointed with the breakfast. The photos show a nice continental breakfast but in reality you get some toast with jam or cereal with tea or coffee The rooms are not soundproof and we had some very loud ladies in the next room that decided to shout until 2am so no sleep for us All in all we would rate our experience a 2 out of 10 and that is being generous...

「Arrived on Sunday evening. Had been held up at an engagement but had a table booked during my journey for 20.45. Arrived at the pub/reception at 20.53 (booking line stated I had a 15 minute grace period). Told rather rudely that the kitchen had closed ages ago. I pointed out that I'd booked a table for 20.45 to which the reply was 'well it's now 20.53'. I stated that the booking said there was a 15 minute grace period and I had been stuck in traffic during my 2 hours drive, so couldn't help...

「Everything’s perfect!」

「Had a great overnight stay. Lovely room with view on golf course. Nice to have bath with separate shower. Reception team very kind and helpful as were the staff in Roosters restaurant and the breakfast room. I took advantage of the nearby included gym and pool (12 min drive or the hotel also has a free bookable shuttle). All in all I was very impressed.」

「We welcomed the useful car park with my daughter’s pending wedding and ease of access to town. Room was clean but very hot although fan was provided but noisy overnight and didn’t rotate & only one window opened - Despite this and noisy guests in proximity - everything else was good. Breakfast and staff were helpful and especially at breakfast the staff member was pleasant and I noted took time to talk to guests and was very amenable. Thank you for a good stay prior to wedding. 😊」
