Good option for one night's stay, we had a Deluxe King room which was a decent size with a very comfortable enormous bed. The bathroom was drab and dated but a good size and perfectly functional. There was, however, a musty smell in the room and there was no way to open the windows in either the bathroom or bedroom to air the place which was frustrating. I would not want to be here in the summer as there was only a working desk fan and disconnected/not working ceiling fan.

Staff at check in were helpful and we got early check in but we were woken up twice by a cleaner trying to get into our room in the morning. Thankfully we had locked the door but we were woken up abruptly by the door lock beeping and the door being banged and shoved open on two separate occasions.

Check in was smooth and efficient but not very welcoming considering I’d travelled along way and 2nd visit no personal interaction . Check out very different asked if I’d had a nice stay and had everything been good with the room . Makes such a difference . Hotel room very nice with great touches of bath robe and toiletries . Tea and coffee supplied with water also appreciated . We noticed this year In the corridor it had the aroma of smoke I’m sure it wasn’t as rooms non smoking but every time we went out of our room we could smell it and noticed air fresheners placed around Lace market hotel so conveniently situated to get out and about shopping and restaurants while visiting uni daughter . Had a great few days

Off the beaten path but convenient to castle, pubs and restaurants. Get code from front desk for significant savings on nearby parking. Note: although parking is “nearby”, one-way roads don’t make it an easy drive. Not bad. Just not as easy as it may look on a map. Also, get card from front desk for significant savings at Pitcher and Piano restaurant a few minutes walk. Great restaurant.

Amazing location and nice and quiet rooms. Felt a little dated inside but comfortable. The corridors smelt a bit musty but the rooms were fine. The bathroom felt quite premium and up to date and the staff on the front desk were welcoming and helpful. No aircon but a desk fan was provided and the ceiling fan seemed to help too on a hot day.

We booked the hotel for our 13th wedding anniversary, 13yrs is lace. Really enjoyed our stay. The room was lovely, clean and surprisingly cool considering the heat we are having at the moment. We didn't eat at the hotel so I can't comment. I would certainly use the hotel again. Just a short walk into the city centre.

Stayed here a few times now and it's always been great. Smart, clean hotel with an historic but modern feel. Great staff. Being city centre has no carpark, but a NCP multi storey is literally only a 5 min walk around the corner at lace market Bang on the city centre so everything at your fingertips
