"We chose this hotel for the pictures listed on Expedia which shows a beach and people on stairs walking down to the beach. There is no beach close enough to walk, there is no pool and this hotel is on site of a gas station. You check in on the side of the gas station which is connected all together. Our room had a cup of water under the bed and there was a hair on our sheets which grossed me out. It made me assume the room had not been cleaned and our sheets were likely shaken and put back on. We had a coffee maker but no cups in the room, as well as no soap to wash your hands. We were told to go into our rooms because it was 10pm and we were laughing. No where on the hotel was there a curfew posted. We used water bottle to close the curtains in our room fully because other wise your room could be seen inside. For the price we pay I expected our room to be clean and have fresh bed sheets. Monterey was beautiful but we will never be booking at this hotel again. "

"Small room, maybe 2 feet between 2 full beds. No fridge or microwave. No shampoo. No Kleenex. Key cards had to be renewed every day for 3 days. Smallest flat screen seen in a hotel room. Positive side: fun and friendly staff. "

"clean rooms for being pet friendly. great amenities, and great breakfast options. kids loved the mini waffle iron. staff even apologized for running out of yogurt.plenty of parking and close enough to monterey, carmel and local beaches. would stay here again."

"The breakfast was good, and the staff was very nice during check-in. I did reserve 2 rooms; it would have been nice to get the rooms at least on the same floor. I had one room on the 5th level and another on the 2nd level. "

"I’ll start by saying I ignored the reviews and decided to stay anyway—and that was my mistake. Unfortunately, the reviews are accurate. The room was dirty, and the overall environment felt unsafe. There appeared to be a number of individuals on the property who made us uncomfortable, and at one point someone was pounding on our door at 2 a.m. after attempting to get in. To make matters worse, the door’s safety latch/chain was missing. There were also basic safety concerns, such as the absence of carbon monoxide detectors. The amenities advertised were misleading as well—there is no real fitness center, and when we asked about it, the employee laughed. There is also no pool, only a dirty hot tub. Overall, we did not feel safe during our stay. This was a very unsettling experience, and we will not be returning."

"Nice and quiet place. The price is reasonable, and the room is quite clean. There are also some cute cats around, which made the stay even more enjoyable."
