"This was my family's first trip to Mexico and we didn't know what to expect. Upon arrival we were greeted warmly and though we were too early for check in they got one of our rooms ready for us immediately and gave us our wrist bands to enjoy the bar while we waited for the other. While the property is old and a tad dated, it was clean and well maintained. The beach is fantastic with lots of loungers and nice sand. The food was great! Each day breakfast, lunch and dinner had different options and there was always something one of the pickier eaters in our group found they really liked. The staff was the highlight of the experience, everyone from roomkeepers, bartenders and even the security guards were friendly and very patient even with my very limited Spanish (most of the staff spoke better english than I do spanish) Guadalupe in particular made our time at the buffet so good. He immediately took to doting on my family each time we arrived for a meal, making sure we had everything we needed, including making sure my tequila never ran dry. At the end of the trip, him and I parted with a handshake and a hug and that alone was enough to make me want to come back to Maya Caribe. Tip the staff, get your expectations in check that this isn't a 5 star resort but an incredibly cozy and authentic feeling gem and you'll have a great time."

"Casa Tortuga Boutique Hotel was definitely the perfect choice! The property was very clean and located in a safe area where I felt comfortable walking around. It’s family-run, and since the owners live on-site, I felt safe and well cared for at all times. The room was spotless, and the view of the lagoon was absolutely amazing. I highly recommend Casa Tortuga if you’re looking for a unique, personal experience outside of the typical all-inclusive resorts."
