"This was our first stay at a rhyokan (spelling!)and we were blown away by the beauty, The comfort (personally I felt sleeping on tatami mats on a futon perfect). The attentive service was welcoming and spot on. We ate breakfast and dinner here and the local food was abundant, gorgeously presented and flavorful. We had a room with a private Onsen on a deck. Highly recommend. This was a unique, peak experience and I am a seasoned traveler. Do it. "

"The staff was wonderful. At first i was hesitant for an upgraded room by front desk but took it and the view was stunning and did not disappoint of the Eastern part of town as well the Kamo River. The subway station is directly under the hotel so if you need to catch a subway train or need to get off at a station near you, it will be conveniently under your hotel which also doubles as a shopping mall and connects to the shops underground in the subway station. "This hotel was excellent, as advertised and great value for money. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful; the property was very clean, and the breakfast was excellent value and delicious. The ladies bath was very peaceful and very clean. The hotel was an easy walk to Kyoto Station and a popular bus stop and subway stop were 2 minutes walk. I would highly recommend this property."
