"Excellent condo-like home (LR, dining area, full kitchen, laundry, large bedroom and two bathrooms). 18 two story buildings a bit packed together. Pools, fitness center, play areas. A bit far from nearest beaches. Generous parking. Not inexpensive but, for us, well worth the cost."

"The ocean was visible from my room which was the best part of the room. The toilet creaked and the seat would slide off. The tub needs to be redone. During the daytime I was inside the room there was slow construction going on for the new restaurant. My stay was not relaxing because of the constant noise. Apparently this hotel has been under construction for years so this is a constant issue if you want daytime quiet. The food options here are lacking and over priced. Once Dukes opens it’ll be an improvement. Kids running around the slide area without parental supervision. I got food poisoning from the main restaurant here my first night. The stores here are double the cost of what you can get at the local market or ABC store. That’s a big convenience fee. I unfortunately met a few unfriendly staff. There is no access to the beach from this hotel. I would not recommend staying here."

"Anything but luxurious!Kitchen sinks were horrible. They definitely need replaced. Stoppers for kitchen sink were broken and one missing. Blinds upstairs didn’t work. No privacy. A couple of the pieces on the vertical blinds were broken and laying on the floor. Several of the blinds had signs on them that said do not operate!! Bedspread in master bedroom had numerous holes in it. Very threadbare. The lanai was filthy and in need of paint. Contacted owner/host. He wanted pictures of everything. I sent pictures. Thanked me and never heard another word about any of it. His main concern was that we turned off the a/c when we weren’t home!!We were asked to wash and dry all the towels before we checked out. Are you kidding me??? Seems like we paid a substantial cleaning fee!!!I’ve stayed at numerous places on the Big Island over the past 35 years and this one was unbelievable. Never again!!"

"The location and view from this condo were excellent, as were the condo grounds and pools. The unit itself was not clean, especially the very old, very dirty carpeting and furniture. It smelled awful, and there was a musty cigarette smoke smell throughout the (non-smoking) unit. Either the owners or cleaners tried to cover this smell with room fresheners which were horribly strong chemical odors which triggered headaches for me. We looked for ways to avoid being in the condo except to sleep."

"This house and the week we spent there was amazing. The house fit our three families perfectly. The kids loved the pool. The adults enjoyed the patio and evening sunsets. We would highly recommend this rental. "
