Everything about our stay was excellent! From the lady who welcomed us at the front door, all the staff were friendly and very helpful. Our room was a great size and bed was so comfortable. Breakfast was fab. Xmas decorations had just been put up and the hotel (inside and out) is looking beautiful. We would not hesitate to recommend and we’ll definitely be back.

Hotel is beautiful. Location is perfect. Comfortable bed. The refrigerator in our room was said to be more of a cooler than refrigerator however everything in it was warm. Not cool in the least. Asked for it to be checked 3 times but nothing improved. Everything else, however, was very nice. The food in the restaurant in the hotel was delicious. Staff were very pleasant. I would stay here again just for the location.

Neat and spacious apartments right on the Royal Mile, walkable from several restaurants, shops, and attractions. Having a kitchen with all the necessary appliances and cutlery, and a washer/dryer was a huge benefit! Communication was clear and detailed, and everything was set up in advance to help us have a smooth experience. Luggage storage is available on the first floor. The property is well-secured with several layers of doors with access codes. One minor nitpick is all rooms within the unit had auto-closing doors, including the living room - this was a little inconvenient when moving around the unit.

Bakehouse Close

Bakehouse Close, Canongate on Edinburgh's Royal Mile is one of my favourite closes, because it's so well preserved. Edinburgh Heritage have documents from the 1700's with all the names of the people that lived in the historic close, including Lord Adam Gordon; David Doig, merchant; William Dunbar, weaver and Ewen. Visiting here gives a good impression of what living in the old city must have been like.
