The Shepard's hut was perfect for the 4 of us to sleep, get washed and prepare light meals. The enclosed garden was fantastic for our lurcher and springer spaniel, they loved interacting with the horses and sheep in the next field, and we loved the extra seating area. "Wow - what an amazing hotel! It is very striking as you approach and doesn’t let you down as you enter. The hotel is well maintained and has very striking interiors however there are some signs of aging, but don’t get me wrong - still an amazing hotel and I will be returning! The room I stayed in was a standard double which was very clean, spacious and the bed was incredibly comfortable. The bathroom was enormous and had both a bath and shower. The facilities are very good, I took advantage of the spa - highly recommended! And pool facilities. I particularly liked the single sex sauna, steam room and hot tub area within the changing room. I visited SONA, the Indian restaurant while at the hotel and it was excellent. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful and attentive and the food was delicious, I’m already planning my next visit. I spent some time in the bar and enjoyed the live music. The breakfast was buffet style and there was a dedicated gluten free station and full allergy signage on the cooked breakfast buffet. There were however lots of opportunities for cross contamination, though I suspect they would have supplied it straight from the kitchen if I had asked. I very much enjoyed my visit and will definitely be returning for a longer stay so I can explore more of the activities on offer."

"Beautiful location with stunning views, however the opening times for the pool amenities is poor and the rooms are NOT soundproofed as advertised, myself and my partner were doing adult things and had 2 phone calls from reception thanks to a miserable neighbouring guest, but the staff were so understanding and lovely about it, I would also like to give a special mention to the staff at the top bar who were also really lovely and even insisted on giving us a £1 to have another game of pool even though we had money, him and the chef lad were lovely, and those pastries we bought on the way out were sooo nice too!"

The staff at reception are fantastic, and the manager in particular is so friendly, welcoming and always goes out of his way to make you feel comfortable.
