「Our stay felt luxurious and relaxing. Room was very comfortable and quiet. We also had the opportunity to use the pool which was lovely. Breakfast was delicious. It's a bit harder getting here with public transportation. We walked from Pontyclun station which was okay but others may want to make sure they pre-arrange transportation if needed.」

「Bed comfortable, but no bedside light because of room shape. Furnishings old and basic. Carpets well worn. Owners very welcoming and helpful, so very well looked after during my short stay. No late night disturbance because house shuts down and downstairs alarms set at 10.30pm. Excellent!」

「Very good accommodation! I was a bit hesitant before booking because the bathroom is shared, but that wasn’t a problem at all during our stay — there are several bathrooms and they were always clean and available. The bed is amaaaazing, super comfortable, and the breakfast is great — definitely worth the investment. Check-in and check-out were very convenient thanks to the smart lock technology. I highly recommend this accommodation, I have no complaints, only praise. I liked everything!」

「My friend and I recently stayed here, and we loved it! The hosts are such lovely people—super attentive, friendly, and always making sure we had everything we needed. 「Mill Lodge is located in a quiet side street with pubs and food shopping nearby. Our compact accommodation was very clean, cosy, comfortable and had all we needed, with a generous supply of teas, coffee and Welsh cakes in the room. At breakfast, there was a wide choice of quality ingredients to choose from, carefully prepared and presented in impeccable style. A nice touch was the freshly squeezed orange juice. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful. 」

「very old property which made it interesting but inevitably this comes with limitations. Older buildings have smaller rooms for example. Overall it was a very pleasant place to stay, convenient for the Hay festival. Enough shops to enable a pleasant time strolling through the town.」

「I was going to visit the Brecon Mountain Railway and I needed somewhere close by to stay for the night. Luckily, I chose the Butchers Arms. The room was lovely and clean and the bed very comfortable. The food was filling and tasty and I had breakfast looking across to the start of the Brecon Beacons. The beer was wonderful especially the Butty Bach (little friend in Welsh). 」

「Our stay was very relaxing and Carol made us so welcome (as did the gorgeous dogs). The Blorenge room has a beautiful view and you can walk down to the River Usk from the house, where we saw and heard so many bird species, and watched fish jumping for insects. Breakfasts were plentiful and delicious. We had a tour of the farm which was really interesting. We were sad to leave and would definitely stay here again.」
