「Hotel Grimsborgir is located near the kerid crater. It was my intention to visit the crater as soon as it opened in the morning, but I got a little impatient and couldn’t wait (it didn’t open until 10 am). That’s on me, though, for being the way that I am. The location is perfect for those who are traveling along the Golden circle and wish to further explore the area. 「I booked a room with a bathtub to relieve the fatigue from the long long flight, and it was a right decision. But just note that the amenities shown in the photos are not provided in the bathroom. The room was clean, there was an elevator, and there were supermarkets nearby. Breakfast was simple but good!!」

「There is a lot of renovation going on at Reykjanes, but mostly that's on the exterior and doesn't affect the interior or your comfort in anyway. Don't let the exterior view of the building put you off. The place has an interesting history and they're building for the future. The small peninsula on which the hotel is located is interesting in itself with a salt factory, "hot beach", and of course the large hot pool. The setting and the views are pure Westfjords. It's a breathtaking one hour....or...
