Pros: Secluded and quiet. Functional Cons: It's basically a tiny house set down in a parking lot with a view of nothing. Fine for one night but would not recommend for anything longer.

The room was not cleaned, old towels were hanging, there was no linen in one of the beds. We booked for 10 people, but there were actually 8 seats. The staff was arrogant, no one helped.The location was close to the beach, 10 minutes walk, but the house was somewhere behind the warehouse.

Parking is free and there’s plenty. Pop. of 1600, it’s clean, quiet and close to many places of interest. There’s a fish processing plant so you get an occasional whiff but Þorlákshöfn was truly a relaxing, fun, quiet alternative to Reykjavík.
