Top Showa Hotel Reviews
La Vista Fuji Kawaguchiko
8/10 Good
"We booked last minute as we really wanted to stay at lake kawaguchi. There wasnt many options left for a family of 4 so we picked la vista. We booked the suite with 4 beds and a killer view of mt fuji and in suite bath w a picture window facing fuji. We had a 60 minute massage on site and it was awesome. Worth every penny. We didnt really care about the onsen so much but the public one is very nice. The location sits up on the hill so you jave to walk 5-10 minutes to the cafes which was no problem. We found so many amazing restaurants within 10 minutes. Highly highly recommend mimis café on the lake the garden is full of hydragea and roses. We loved renting bikes in town and riding all around town and the lake. We lucked out as our last day clouds cleared and fujisan showed himself! Overall we loved staying there. It was t our forst choice butThe room was very clean and nice size for my wife and I and our two teenagers. Id give it a strong 4 stars. We did not eat there as it seemed expensive and we like local places better. The hotel has kind of a French country vibe and seems in some parts a tad outdated imo and felt the lobby souvenior shop was a bit over the top BUT the views are amazing staff was great and room was very clean and comfortable and we enjoyed our 2 nights there. The bathroom was 5 star!"
Kasuitei Ohya
10/10 Excellent
"I loved how clean and well maintained this property was. The rooms being itself was very spacious and we had a beautiful view of the lake across the street. Staff were very friendly and offer a ride services going to and from Kawaguchiko Station which was very helpful. It was also a short walk to Kawaguchiko Lake, My Fuji Panoramic Ropeway, and various convenience stores and restaurants. We were also served a large Japanese breakfast in the morning. I was traveling with someone with severe food allergies so was presently surprised by how thoughtful and accommodating staff was about alterations to the meal."
Lakeland Hotel Mizunosato
10/10 Excellent
"This hotel truly made our visit to Kawaguchiko so special and anyone else who plans on visiting should seriously consider this beautiful residence. Staying here felt like a movie, it felt like I had stepped into a new world. The inside was like a work of art, just so beautiful. In terms of practicality, they are helpful enough to provide a shuttle to and from Kawaguchiko station complimentary with your stay to save on taxi costs, there are e-bikes just down the road (I would highly recommend cycling around the area) with multiple dropoff points and affordable prices. The rules/customs of the hotel only strengthen how special the stay is, wearing yukata while walking around the hotel (to breakfast, dinner, Onsen etc) really immerses you into traditional Japanese culture, and if that wasn’t enough the traditional rooms will assuredly make you consider moving from your home country. If you stay, I absolutely recommend getting the room with the Mt Fuji view. Words cannot describe how picturesque this leg of the Japan trip was and this hotel was a driving factor to making the perfect visit to Kawaguchiko. I would find it easy to write so much more giving my word about this hotel, but anyone reading this should come and see for yourself, I can assure you that you won’t regret it. Thank you to our hosts for being so accommodating (and dealing with my terrible knowledge of the Japanese language) and best of wishes to anyone travelling!"

Grand Mercure Yatsugatake Resort & Spa
10/10 Excellent
"Will back again. Excellent hotel."
Dormy Inn Kofu Natural Hot Spring
10/10 Excellent
"For only staying two days, I was very impressed. The staff are great, rooms are larger than most in Japan, Onsen was amazing (had to use skin tape over tattoos to go in), breakfast was good. The only thing I will say is the area in which this hotel resides is a bit questionable during the night, though I never had any issues. Would absolutely stay there again."
