"Beautiful beach,excellent food at nectar restaurant,comfortable bed"

"The hotel is very old and basic. Relatively clean but age impacts. Bedding was clean and bed comfortable enough. Room itself felt damp. Air conditioning works and was full blast on arrival. Hard to get warmed up and a thin blanket on the bed was insufficient. All basic amenities provided but no water and that would have been helpful. Its very close to the airport. Handy for us as a room until our cruise next day but on the flight path so noisy. Desk staff friendly and polite. For one night it was fine but would not want to stay more than that. Not sure what prices are like in Puerto Rico but think £90 is a lot for a very budget hotel personally. "

"Room was not ready had to wait at least 45 minutes. Restaurant food was not that good. Waitress had no help she did the best she could. The front desk was rude and had little interest in trying to make customer service a priority."

"Good Stay Overall, but Too Many Issues to Ignore The resort was clean and had a relaxing atmosphere, but several issues affected our stay. The room needed upgrades—our phone didn’t work, the restroom felt outdated, the balcony lacked a proper table, and we had to request maid service. The beach also needed better upkeep, with rocks, bottle caps, cigarette butts, and seaweed scattered around. Breakfast was good, though the menu could use more variety. The evening wine‑down was nice, but the snacks—salty popcorn and stale nachos—definitely need improvement. The pool bar closing at 6 p.m. was inconvenient, and several amenities like the steak restaurant, bowling, and kart racer were closed during our visit. Parking was another frustration. I was told the fee would be waived, but it wasn’t, and the parking lot card barely worked. The resort has potential, but it needs better maintenance, clearer communication, and some key updates to deliver the experience it advertises. "

"Whether the requirements of a 5 star hotel differ in the Americas compared to Europe/Middle East etc, I'm not sure, but this is not a 5 star hotel where you will receive 5 star service. We were unable to dine at one of the hotel's restaurants as they only had one high chair, and said they were unable to source another one. Asked if we could reserve for the next evening to ensure a high chair was available, we were told it was not possible as they couldn't guarentee their one high chair would be available (rather than ensure one was available). Put a request in that the room be made up by 2pm to ensure my kids could return from their day out to have a nap. This request was not actioned, with typical times to make the room up around 3pm each day (quite late I feel). Breakfast was adequate- tipping is required even if breakfast is included in the rate, but that is a culture issue so can't complain about that. Room was not ready at 4pm and I was told to provide my mobile number and I would be called when ready. No offer of what to do in the meantime or indication of when the room would be ready. Only when I pushed back did was the room suddenly available. Staff are mixed - some very genuine and helpful "
