「We stayed in Tokyo and Osaka prior to our stay here in Kyoto at Maeniiya Machiya Inn. Maeniiya Machiya Inn is a definite great place to stay and close to everything. Akemi (property owner) is a wealth of knowledge and gave a lot of tips and recommendations. Be sure to visit Sukemasa for dinner if you like Gyoza. It is very close and yummy for 1000yen! 「This house is very beautiful and located very close to the former „Kaiserpalast“ and castle „Nijō“. However, to reach it from Kyoto station it is required to take three subway stations and a >10 minutes walk. But you can at least let comfortably transfer your luggage to the house (from Check-in office next to Kyoto station). In conclusion, we would chose it another time when visiting Kyoto as the area is very attractive and a very good starting point for various points of interest. Ramen...

「This was a beautiful place to stay in and a safe neighborhood. We loved the art and the lighting that magnified the place. It was quite big and we felt that we staying at home. Highly recommend this place as your home away from home」

「今回の京都旅行で1番印象的なのが、長屋造りの宿舎です。チェックインの際のスタッフの方も親切で、事前に到着時間を伝えていて大通りまで出て出迎えて下さいました。また、効率的な付近の観光情報を教えていただきました。荷物も事前に配送させていただきましたので受け取り対応もして下さいました。長屋造りになっていて、お隣りが近いせいか隣の海外旅行者が玄関チャイムを押して私たちに台所の使い方を聞いてくる貴重な体験もありました。部屋が広くて古い造りで子どもたちは、大喜びでした。自転車で近所を回ることを楽しみにしていましたが、3日間雨で自転車に乗れず残念でした。」

「数回、人数変更などで直接ホテルに連絡させてもらいましたが、とても優しく対応していただきました。 ホテルについては、町家ということもあり、若干寒い感じはありましたが、とても快適にリノベーションしてあり、過ごしやすかったです。 室内は、和風を生かしつつ、洋の部分も取り入れてあって、「町家ホテル」を楽しむことができました。 一つ残念だったのは、お風呂が石づくりだったので、お湯がすぐに冷めてしまい、肌触りも冷たかったです・・・。」

「 We really enjoyed our stay here during the end of Hanami. Everything was clean, and plenty of room for our party. The walls are pretty thin like most Japanese residential places in Japan. So, if you stay here just be courteous of the noise level, because you can hear your neighbors very easily.」
