This is one of the best hotels I've stayed in the UK (and I've been staying at quite a few 5 star hotels). The staff was professional, friendly, and accomodating. They def pay attention to details and ensure we have the best experience. Even provided me some of the best local recs and I was quite impressed (and this is coming from a foodie like me)

I have too many positive things to say to list them all. This is honesty the best lodging experience of my life. Great room. Great food. Peacocks! The best service in the know universe. Sample discontinued rare Scotch in the whisky room. If you find yourself in Edinburgh, stay at Prestonfield House. You won't regret it.

We absolutely loved this hotel. Location was fantastic for walking, staff were friendly, food and beer were great, and our room and shared spaces were fantastic. Would absolutely stay here again.

Excellent trip from start to finish. We arrived early, but the rooms were already ready. And we got a fantastic upgrade! The concierge helped us plan out our sightseeing for the following day, as well as made a great dinner recommendation and reservation. Drinks and food at Peacock Alley and the Caley bar were excellent. The service was wonderful - I wish I could remember all the staffs’ name who assisted us. Thanks for an excellent stay!

Great property

The Black Ivy was so cute! The restaurant is great and it’s nice to have breakfast in your hotel and the rooms are super clean. Staff were friendly and very helpful. The only thing I would say is that the hot water for the shower was not very hot (to be fair I like it basically the temp of the surface of the sun) but it was above warm at best. I liked the tea and cookie set up and the room decor <3

Very convenient and comfortable

Amazing stay and service!

Check in was smooth. No lift but successful in lugging 30+kg. suitcase up & down 3 flights of stairs. Room was impeccably clean. Room safe was difficult to access due to its position on floor of closet and tendency to entrap tiny objects in door which forced me to call for help. Batteries were dead in safe but replaced after 1 day's wait. Shower and tub excellent. Wonderful array of amenities. Hotel has stopped supplying slippers. Miss them. Enjoyed our stay here. Room was a great size with comfortable beds. Location is excellent: 5 min walk to the castle, and around a variety of shops and restaurants and a very safe area. Staff was helpful and friendly. The only “con” is parking for the hotel, which is about a 15 min walk away, so can be challenging if driving.

We loved our stay here! Beautiful property with lots of windows! Having a lounge with coffee machine and snacks, and a washer and dryer were a big plus!

Amazing overall. Bed could be a little more Cush but overall great facilities and the cafe at the bottom is wonderful.

Convenient location allowed us to walk to all the attractions, shops, and endless dining options. The staff was friendly, the bartender was a super hard worker and great at his job, and the rooms were clean. The hotel locks the gate at night so you have to use your key to get in, which is a nice feature for safety. If you are a light sleeper, it might be too noisy for you. The only downside to this property really was the lack of air conditioning. It was extremely humid when we were there and no way to remove the humidity from the room. But it wasn't hot or anything, so not a big deal. The staff was super nice, the breakfast was great, everything worked well. I especially loved how declining service came with a perk or a charity donation.
