"We had a lovely stay at VR Rotorua. The staff were amazing, friendly, and always happy to help. The lake view was beautiful and definitely a highlight of our stay. The only thing that could be improved is the condition of the property, as it could do with some upgrades and modernisation. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and appreciated the excellent service from the staff."

"The property grounds are very lovely, spacious, wonderful trees and green space, plenty of parking, and wonderful views and access to the lake. We used the tennis court, ping pong table, pool, and hot tub during our stay, and they were all great. The pool is not heated, so the water was too cold for our family, but I’m certain it would be very welcoming during the warmer summer months. The hot tub was nice, although some of our group thought it would be nice if it were hotter. The on-site restaurant was excellent. The staff in reception were always friendly and responsive. Our family of five stayed in a three bedroom accommodation, and it had the perfect amount of space. We arrived late afternoon, and check-in was quick and smooth. The beds were comfortable as were the pillows. There were plenty of extra outlets for charging everyone’s phones. There was plenty of kitchenware and fridge space although we didn’t really use any of it this stay. We did encounter some ants on the kitchen counter and dining table even though we didn’t have any food in the place (we ate all of our meals at local restaurants and did not bring back any leftovers/takeaway), but ants can happen anywhere, anytime so we did not get worked up over it. The place was otherwise clean and cozy. If we return to the area, we would happily stay here again."

"Highlight was Lovely view of lake. Jetty is smaller in person but was it nice to go kayaking. Weather wasn’t always in our favour and was disappointed that no umbrellas were provided. Host stated that they “went missing” which was confusing due to bond requirements. Kindling fire was requested and provided the second night (stating they only provide in winter) however fire place hadn’t been cleaned. This was a lovely inclusion on the night we used it. Toilet is part of bathroom/laundry which proved tricky at times when people showering so it may impact families. As it’s a seasonal location it would be nice to have cards, games etc (there were 2 empty boxes of cards) so we bought our own for indoor fun. Beds were comfy."
