"The room had a really nice cosy feel to it and felt spacious. We loved the balcony from which we saw the Northern lights. The bathroom had a good shower and lovely L'Occitane toiletries. Staff on reception were super friendly and helpful. The highlight for us was the breakfast which had plenty of choice and delicious coffee and sourdough which we have not stopped talking about! The Starbucks was handy in reception. We only saw afterwards that we would have got a discount by showing our room key - would have been good if this was notified to us on arrival. Location fantastic - close to bus stops for the airport and tours and walkable to everything. We didn't find it noisy as on the quieter end of the main street. The only downside was the bed - the mattress was pretty lumpy and hard and could have done with being replaced. "

"Clean, warm, comfortable room. In fact, so warm we had to open windows, even after turning the heating down. The view was superb, probably the best in Reykjavik. The only constructive criticism might be that there was nowhere to hang clothes, but there was ample space to leave both suitcases open, so not a big deal."

"Hotel was in the perfect location, could walk to everything! Good location for catching tour buses too! Clean, friendly and lovely hotel. Very laid back approach and even loaned me a travel plug as I brought the wrong one!! Free of charge too! Breakfast was continental style and plenty of choice, perfect to set you up for the day. Will definitely stay here again! "

"Overall an excellent stay at Sand, great room, perfect location in terms of sights, shopping and food (highly recommend Ox). Breakfast did the job but nothing amazing….. you are on top of 2 of the best bakeries in the city with v yummy cinnamon buns so personally think that’s a better option. We’d come back!"
