「Last minute booking for a cheeky overnight sojourn in York. First time visit, slightly out of the centre, but close to frequent bus service. Traditional hotel, spotlessly clean, with a few creaking bits. Special mention for the excellent receptionist, Jessica. Good value for money and will definitely be back!」

「A very clean room with friendly staff and convenient albeit limited parking. Our issues came from the rail radiator in the bathroom not working as well as the bathroom being cold overall. The check in and check out processes were seamless.」

「We stayed at this property in May 2026. While the staff were extremely kind and helpful, the air conditioner in our room was not working and they refused to change our room since they were all booked and declined a refund/compensation too. When you pay £137 a night the least you expect is for the air conditioner to work especially when it’s been a hot day and you’re on the top floor of the hotel. Pretty poor for a ‘Marriott’ hotel. Avoid at all costs.」

「Good location 15 mins walk to centre along the river. Clean rooms and adaquite kitchen. Free morning pastries was a basket full of plain croissants not alot of choise there. Coffee machine was broke but hot water and coffee available in its place. We just made one in our room. Lovely veiw over the river.」

「Breakfast was good. Orange juice was very cheap though - not freshly squeezed. Old part of the building is very impressive. Charging for a small bottle of water in the room is unacceptable. Hotel could do with a gym as well.」

「The ibis hotel in York was in a good location, within walking distance to everything. The hotel was very quiet and the rooms were nicely updated and well kept. The staff at the front desk were great and very helpful. I didn't us the breakfast so cannot comment on that. 」
