"The staff - in particular, Luis Acosta & Manuel Lopez. Absolutely fantastic. They ensured we had a smooth check in and week at the resort. They made sure we had all our dinners booked in early in our trip and gave us restaurant recommendations so that we had the best time. Restaurants - highly recommend Yurta (Mongolian), El Olivo (Mediterranean) and M.E.A.T. (Steakhouse). These were our favourite of the 6 restaurants we tried. The buffets were all good but the beachside one was a bit smaller so had limited options compared to the main buffet. Drinks - the bartenders were all very generous with their pour and all the drinks were very well balanced. We loved most of the welcome cocktails. ‘Matum’ in particular was fantastic. Room - the room was comfortably sized and considering we weren’t spending much time in the room anyway, it was perfectly fine. There were no elevators in the buildings so the staff had to lug our suitcases up and down stairs. Beach - wow! The beach was fantastic. Water was warm and the sand was clean. There was some seaweed some days but overall very clean. Sand was very soft too! The waves weren’t as big as we were used to (being from Australia) but it was big enough to enjoy."

"Hotel was a little dated. Make sure that if you want peace and quiet ask for a room away from the entertainment courtyard. Live music till midnight, then the music continues to play till about 2am. Beach and pool areas are great."

"The resort was a bit old, but the staff was amazing! It was clean and well-arranged. The rooms were always tidied up and stocked, but the bed was super hard and uncomfortable. There weren't many outlets for charging stuff, and if there was one, the plug just wouldn't stay in. Breakfast was probably the only good thing at the buffet, but dinner there was a bit of a letdown. I really wished there was more authentic Dominican food! The pool was nice and big, but watch out for the slippery area around it – those stones are a death trap! I'm surprised no one's gotten seriously hurt yet! Overall, it's a great spot if you want to save some cash."

"This hotel is absolutely gorgeous. The photos online do absolutely no justice. The hotel staff were very nice and helpful. The only reasons I am giving 4 stars and not 5, full blown construction zone adjacent from my balcony, the AC didn’t work well in my room, and the food is very hit or miss. Having said that, I had an amazing vacation."

"A/C didn’t work practically at all in 2 of the 3 rooms. Fan was noisy. All that was reported, they did nothing to fix it or change rooms. Restaurants à la carte were very difficult to get. Nautical included attractions, were full but the staff suggested to talk to guy to make an opening, so was it full or not? I saw at least two catamarans sitting on the sad for quite sometime, which tells me they were not reserved. "
