The beds we comfortable, the staff was friendly and helpful. I didn't like that the bathroom had barely any counter space for my stuff and the only plug was on the far side of the toilet. Had to place my toothbrush on the toilet tank and hair dryer cord barely reached the mirror to see what your doing.

Trip to Honolulu, HI. We had already paid in advance for our entire stay. But, out of the blue my card on file was charged again for a week stay. No one contacted me. We found out when we tried to place a charge to my card and it was declined. We were so embarrassed b/c we knew how much we had in our account for this trip. The manager on duty offered 50% off on a second meal, and a free meal. Please…a week stay was charged to our card when we had paid that week stay in advance…well over $1800...

Great hotel for families! Really convenient walk to everything, beach, restaurants and shopping. The staff were really nice and hospitable! It was a trip back home I needed when I visited my sick Mom. The stay at Imperial was definitely calming and worth it! Definitely my go to next time in Waikiki!

It is an old hotel, but all the facilities were clean and pleasant. The hotel swimming pool facilities were good, and Waikiki Beach was also visible from the accommodation. The best thing was the accessibility. It was convenient to walk to Waikiki Beach, close to the shopping center, and take a shuttle to cultural facilities nearby.

This was my first trip to Hawaii and I enjoyed my stay at the Waikiki Malia. My room was clean and had all of the amenities I needed. Staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel is located within walking distance of many shopping, dining options and the beach.
Transportation was also convenient as you can catch the #20 bus for $3 from the airport and it drops you off in front of the hotel. The pink Waikiki Trolley is available for a tour of the area.
I hope my review is helpful for those...

This is my new favorite hotel in Waikiki! If you’re looking for a smaller hotel that isn’t a big resort, this is a GREAT option! Newly renovated less than 2yrs ago so everything is new, it’s clean, the staff is amazing, the rooftop pool is nice and has good views, the Heavenly restaurant downstairs has AMAZING breakfast! … I can’t say enough good things about my stay here. I’ll be back next visit!

We really appreciated the welcoming staff & drinks on arrival after a delayed travel day. They really helped set the mood for a great stay. The location is close to ABC Stores & great restaurant options. This hotel provided real coffee mugs and glassware in our room…a small touch but very nice! We will be back! Aloha!

Oahu offers a paradise of activities for budget-conscious travelers seeking both adventure and value. Start your exploration at the famous Pearl Harbor, where you can visit the USS Arizona Memorial for free, gaining insight into a pivotal moment in American history. Next, head to the stunning beaches of Waikiki, where you can soak up the sun and enjoy the surf without spending a dime. For a taste of local culture, visit the vibrant Kaka'ako district, where colorful street art meets trendy food trucks, offering affordable eats that reflect the island's diverse flavors. Don't miss the chance to hike up Diamond Head; the entrance fee is minimal, and the panoramic views of Oahu's coastline are worth every step. Finally, the North Shore is renowned for its epic waves and laid-back vibe, where you can watch surfers tackle massive swells or relax on quieter beaches away from the crowds. For accommodations, consider staying in the bustling Waikiki area, where a variety of budget-friendly hotels are located within walking distance of these attractions, providing the perfect base for your adventure while ensuring you experience the warmth and hospitality of Oahu.
