Hope she gets a raise or bonus this year, she truly deserves it. We got the room we paid for. Great parking right next to the property, parking is VERY tight on 1st floor. Beautiful view to the boardwalk and beach. Busy street and lively. 4/5 We would stay again! "

"Check in was smooth. The man at the front desk was friendly and informative. He put our group of three together, allowed us to stay parked at the hotel after check out while we had one last day at the Boardwalk and he even called to let me know my daughter left her iPad in the room. Great customer service goes a long way. The hotel is affordable and short walk to the Board Walk. If you don’t plan on spending a lot of time in the room, it’s a great option. We would stay here again. "

"This has become our go-to place for our visits to a relative living in Santa Cruz. Good value for the money, our room had a kitchenette, and we like to bring our breakfast and eat in the room. With the kitchenette table we didn't have to eat on the bed. Even though it was a weekend, it was quiet and we slept well."

"I’ve stayed at Ocean Gate Inn several times when visiting my son at UCSC, and the staff has always been kind and professional. One thing I really appreciate is how they go above and beyond — I’ve arrived as late as 1 a.m., and they’ve called to make sure I was still coming, which shows great customer service. Sometimes I show up with two cars (mine and my son’s), and the man at the front desk always says it’s fine and never makes a big deal about it. The rooms are clean, it’s in a safe area, and every room even has its own balcony. It’s honestly one of the best affordable hotels in Santa Cruz. Other places nearby have issues, but here the staff truly cares. I’ve had small maintenance issues in the past, and they were fixed right away. Overall, great people, great service, and a comfortable place to stay! "
