"Beautiful, well-presented and spotless house. Anna was incredibly quick to respond to all our questions, making the check in process completely seamless. The lovely welcome treats left for our arrival were such a thoughtful touch. Highly recommend, we couldn't have chosen a better base for exploring the Lakes!"

"House is clean and tidy. The kitchen has everything we need. Water pressure and temperature in all bathroom are perfect. Overall we enjoyed our stay.
The heater in ground floor got very loud noise after few hours central heating been turn on. Need to turn up the heating,(e.g. from 0 to 2, from 2 to 3)to stop the noise.
There were high pitch "beeps" from ground floor which woke everyone in house at 3am and 3:30am on the first night. Sounds like the smoke detector but we were not sure. However,...
"Amazing weekend.Bit awkward to find as we came in from kendal way ..Sat nav tookus throughmiles of one car wide road but its a paradise corner with stream and garden areas.. Some cottages residential but very friendly especially John..Also has smart TV and excellent wifi ..4 of us on anniversary weekend.Fully recommended.."
"The accommodation was clean, spacious and comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped (although we always ate out or got takeaway during our stay). We'd be happy to stay here again.
One word of warning, however. The parking spot is under a tree and directly in the local birds' line of fire. Be prepared to have to clean your windscreen every morning..."
"should be renamed little crake WOW. what a place. beautiful rooms, modern, clean and a pleasure to go back to in an evening. can't say enough good things about this place and the owners john and hazel who were welcoming and helpful "
"Beautiful house and location.
Host is pretty thoughtful and thorough.
The only issue was we were unable to contact host for any anything like internet password etc"
"Great place.
Check in was easy once we got through.
Not the owners fault it was hotel. Com they were awful.
Stay was amazing views were outstanding.
Dated but this gave the appeal plenty of space and bedrooms all hadd en suite"
"This property exceeded our expectations! Very spacious lounge and kitchen. The 4 double bedrooms were a good size with very comfortable beds. Massive bonus was that 2 of them had ensuites as well as another bathroom.
The property was immaculate and is clearly looked after well.
The location was very peaceful and remote. Daunting single road to travel from the main road for 2-3 miles however after doing it once it was a lot easier. Minimal traffic.
Will definitely stay again!"

There are not enough stars nor points to give this hotel! It is perfectly placed near the Lakes, but not so close as to be crowded. Our room was lovely, with all the right touches and amenities: great shower, comfy bed, and REAL COFFEE! The included breakfast is fantastic, and do not miss the restaurant (we ate there 3 times in 2 days), as the food is superb! Every staff member we encountered was delightful. We would go out of our way to stay there again!

Enjoyed a great 3 night stay at the Hideaway. This is a true Bed & Breakfast. Our bed was comfortable and our private bath had been nicely modernized with helpful shelves and racks. The breakfasts were prepared to order from a balanced menu. The staff was friendly and very accommodating. Due to the rain we did not get to enjoy the outside sitting area but it looked inviting. The bedroom itself was a bit tight, but we had small roller bags so we were able to situate everything - would have been...

We enjoyed our stay at Cedar Manor. The hosts were great and offered advice on dining in the local area and walking directions to the town. We spent most of our time traveling the area and did not eat in the restaurant. The room was a little on the small side and the hot weather required a fan in the room which did not add to the comfort. Otherwise all good and worth a visit

Really lovely B & B just a few minutes walk into the centre which had plenty of independent shops, cafes and restaurants
It’s also near the Orrest Head walk with spectacular views.
We ate at Tapios one night for delicious tapas and highly recommended them.
Our second night we ate at The Pig ( name changed to Tilly’s ) and had their Cajun chicken burger… yummy!
We opted for a full English breakfast which was not the biggest one I’ve had but cooked fresh and nicely presented and the option of...
