"I stayed at the Chaya house which was absolutely stunning. The staff were incredibly friendly and a joy to speak with. Otsu is a smaller quiet town with lots of character and friendly residents. I highly recommend checking out the local Izakayas and cafes for an equally excellent experience."
"They gave me a late checkout (2 hours extension) for no additional charge. Staff tried to talk in English with me, and was very helpful. Breakfast was amazing also, and very cheap! The room is very spacious. Some things seem a bit old, and the red light in the bathroom did not work. But it was a nice stay, would probably do it again in the future!"

"We chose a room option with beds instead of the futons, though the futons actually looked comfy! We did the included breakfast and it was delicious. The property was beautiful and clean and centrally located to all the Gion sights. I would definitely recommend it. "
