"Excellent hosts. Rooms very clean and well maintained. You need to be comfortable sleeping on tatami mat floor on a futon but it was part of the experience in visiting Japan for us. We did not try the food as we wanted to explore the cuisine in the town. Great location that was walkable to many sites and the shopping district and easily accessible to transit."

"This was such a special place to stay. We were looking for a relaxing spot to end our trip to Kyoto, and this was exceptional. The food and baths were especially lovely. It’s also walking distance from the monkey forest, which was so fun!"

"This is a great spot in Kyoto. Tons of temples and gardens in easy walking distance. You can also walk to pontocho alley and Nishiki market easily.
