North America Beach Vacations

This was our second time at the HHV and we stayed at the Ali tower. The hotel was clean, there were plenty of dining options, the prices were as expected. It’s easy to have groceries delivered to the hotel. The pool at the Alii tower can use some renovating. The beach is beautiful and clean. They do charge $26 per lounge chair and an additional fee for umbrellas which is a bit off putting considering the high rates we pay for the resort and amenities. Overall a wonderful family friendly resort.

Liked location. Didnt like that partial ocean view meant leaning against the railing to see around a wall. Also didnt like that they didnt have beach chairs for guests on the beach. Had to rent them from third paety. Other hotels have dedicated chairs and umbrella area for their guests. Everything else was great. Would come back again

Parking is very expensive.

The only bad thing was us three girl broke a nail trying to open the cabinet for the refrigerator. The staff was amazing especially Ian from baggage he helped at any given charges.

Well to start, I didn’t get the 17th floor room I paid for and was “guaranteed” the day prior to check-in since it was not made ready for check-in time. I didn’t not arrive early or try to check-in early, it was after the check-in time. It was more convenient for them to put me in a 9th floor room, which is whatever, but I was a little annoyed to pay for and be guaranteed a top floor room and not get it. I was given my room key with “3” written at departure time, so I assumed I got late check-out to match my shuttle pick-up time. Property is definitely outdated. Room doors don’t have additional pad locks and being a woman traveling alone, it was a little unnerving. Kept a chair in front of the door for extra “security.” Free breakfast is fruit, toast, oatmeal, and coffee/juice, but at least it’s free. The morning of check-out, I was told the best they could do for free was a noon check-out. That didn’t explain why they wrote a “3” on my key card envelope. A little annoyed that, again, my plans had to be altered for their convenience. All in all, you get what you pay for. Not a bad stay for the price in Waikiki, but I just wish some things were honored as they were promised since I did still pay quite a bit for this vacation.
