First time in Honolulu. My kids and I really enjoyed the hotel. Staff was very helpful and friendly. We loved being beachfront.

Unfortunately this hotel was under renovation and we were not advised when we booked. There was jackhammering from 9am-3pm daily and one day no water in the rooms from 9am-1.30pm . When we spoke with the front officer manager she just yelled at us and told us Expedia should have told us about the renovations and it was their fault . She did not care and did not want to resolve the problem with a room move or any form of compensation at over $1000 Aud a night we should have advised us of the noise and hotel being half closed and no water. The hotel is in a great location the other staff were friendly and doing their best. When it is finished at the end of the year a great hotel to stay right on the beach. Our room was old but really great position and balcony overlooking the beach. Other than the renovation and Front Office Manager it was a great hotel.

The most annoying was that if you go to the beach early, before 10am there are no sun-beds, as the workers collect them every day at 5pm, so you have to leave at 5pm. Also you have to rent a regular umbrella every day for $38, which is annoying. There are no outdoor showers at the beach or pool area, which is not acceptable at this kind of hotel. It is a little overpriced for the amenities offered. The stuff is expecting tips left and right. Every time you want a towel, the stuff does not hand you it, even when asked, they walk with you to the chair on the beach , so you have to tip them. Also the hotel does not clean their beach if there is seagrass on the shore.
