The property is beautiful and large. There were always beach and pool chairs available. We enjoyed the complimentary water therapy experience at the spa and the yoga classes at the fitness center. In general, the staff was helpful, but not as friendly and engaging as some other resorts. The staff's proficiency in English wasn't as good as resorts closer to Cancun, but my Spanish isn't as good as their English! Specialty restaurants were a lot of fun especially the Asian hibachi experience. Buffet food would be much better if there was salt and pepper on each table.

We gave Barceló another chance and I’m so glad we did. The food improved a lot since our last visit, the pool was always clean, and the amenities were great. Overall, we had a really enjoyable stay and would definitely come back.

Our 5th time here. The staff is great! Amenities are great! Food was okay. The beach this time had a lot of seaweed and the hotel did not make any effort to clean it. That was disappointing as well as the fact that we asked for a room upgrade and it seemed that it was overlooked. Not many night activities this time as well. The hotel had less tourists this time which I don’t if it’s a good or bad thing.

I've been here several times over the past few years. Always the best resort in the area! Staff is unparalleled in their professionalism, facilities are immaculate and the amenities are really unlimited. Highly recommend for everyone, family, solo, couple! 5 resorts for one.. And a mall in the middle of the jungle!

The property ground’s continue to be well maintained but the rooms are beginning to age with upgrades required in the bathrooms, room furniture and drapes/curtains. We had some issues with the rooms and asked the preferred teams to reassign rooms which was quickly supported. The waterpark and dolphin exhibit were both closed and the pool at the caribe was not being cleaned daily near the swim up bar. Meals were good at the restaurants overall but a couple issues stood out with caribe buffet cross containment cooking raw chicken and burgers with the same spatula during lunch. Our 2nd dinner at La Trattoria Italian restaurant was serving wilted brown lettuce on the salad bar. This was surprising considering the was one of our preferred restaurants during other stays. Our last dinner at the Capri restaurant was our favorite, meals and service were outstanding. Japanese and Mexican restaurants were very good while Santa Fe steakhouse was very disappointing for meal quality and service. We have stayed at the adult only location a couple years ago and had a great experience with much more modern location. It’s a little further to walk to some restaurants but the shuttle service within resort is a great option. Although we love the caribe / beach locations they have really started to age and unless they do some upgrades the adults only location would be our preferred choice.

Fast check in. Very polite and helpful staff. Easy to get restaurant reservations. Big variety of food, and it also good taste. Spa is amazing. Nice beach with white sand, and shallow water. This time was a lot of seagrass, but it isn't about hotel, it's about nature.
