「I mean for the price you get a bed and bathroom. Considering where the property is located, there is not that much around. However you do pay a premium price. I am sure in the 50s this might have been a rocking spot, however, it is highly overpriced even for high season. Could have found similar in the Placid area. At least the bed was like sleeping on plywood.」

「We were at the Avon Inn for a very brief overnight stay, motivated by history behind the institution. As the sole remaining hotel from Avon's history as a destination for its springs, it is still the center of a lovely small town. Service was friendly and efficient and we would have been glad to spend another day or two there.」

It also is right above the restaurant outdoor dining/bar area and it looks like there is live music there often so that may be unappealing for people looking for a quiet lake getaway. 「Our stay at Elmrock was exactly what we needed to get out of town and have many of the beautiful sites of Ulster County available nearby. The House we rented from them was beautifully kept. The Breakfasts were great ant the conversation with others made for nice mornings. ON a VERY hot July 4th Weekend the home was cool and comfortable! Would recommend the Inn highly.」

「I should have taken other recent reviews to heart. The property is overgrown; the path stones are broken, and weeds grow right under my patio doors, making them difficult to open. I received a message saying no one would be there to greet me, but that a packet with information and my room keys would be on the front desk.
