"There’s a lot of people that looked sketchy while staying there. People smoking right in front of you. Would not recommend if staying with your family/kids.. Shortly after checking in, my husband and I witnessed an altercation happening right next to our room. We tried to deescalate the situation but it did not get resolved until the cops showed up accompanied by someone else who knew of the altercation. We asked the front desk to see about getting our refund after the frustrating incident that occurred by Surfs tenants and the front desk could care less. Safety is not a concern to Surf City, they just want your money."

"Not a terrible hotel, but wouldn't recommend staying here. Our initial room was reeking of smoke, and the TV was completely broken (wires were cut). Never got a chance to check out the Pool/Hot Tub because kids were in there for hours screaming, which we could hear from our room. Our second room was better, however, after we switched. The front desk was accommodating and friendly, and offered a partial refund, which helped. The breakfast options were uninspiring, and they didn't have much left by 9:00 AM despite being open until 10. 2.5/5 Star Review. "

"The Restaurant and bar were closed and though the rooms have been remodeled and are clean and updated the parking lot and the rest of the hotel need a bit of a polish. For the price and it being away from the downtown it was way too pricey. What made it so convenient was that it was supposed to have all in one stop. Also only coffee and muffins were available the add said breakfast included. "
