"We really enjoyed our stay at the cross hotel. The room was comfortable and clean. The location of the hotel was excellent for first time travelers to Kyoto. We were able to walk to most places we needed to go. The staff was helpful in guiding us to places we wanted to see and how to get there. Their breakfast buffet was delicious. I would definitely recommend staying at this hotel."

"Excellent choice of hotels! The rooms were immaculate, and clean towels were delivered to the room daily. Bonus is the laundry room: 500 yen (use 5 x 100 yen coins) to wash and 100 yen to dry. On the bottom floor is a Starbucks, also with a friendly, helpful staff. This hotel is a great find!"

"This hotel is perfectly located in the Akasaka district, less than a 10-minute walk from the nearest subway station, making it easy to access the main areas and tourist attractions across Tokyo. The staff were incredibly lovely and welcoming throughout our entire stay. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, although they are the typical smaller size you would expect in Tokyo. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would happily recommend this hotel."

"We stayed in 6 high end hotels/ryokans over a 2,5 week period of time. Sowaka by far the most personalized service we received. The staff is highly professional and engaging. They made great recommendations based on our needs and requests. Arriving or leaving Sowaka was met with a warm reception each time. The room was well maintained and we always returned to inspiring messages. Gion Loka provided a great culinary experience both for dinner and breakfast. The location is also hard to beat if you are looking to spend time in the HIgashiyama area. Definitely not a one night and out of there experience. Spend several days here relaxing and exploring"
