"Bathroom was very clean as far as I could tell. Amenities were body wash and shampoo in the shower, and 4 shower caps on the bathroom counter. Air conditioner and outside street noise were very noisy but I was able to sleep through it. Mattresses are very soft and slept-in, but that's expected at this level of hotel. Office staff were courteous and nice. They'll ask for your car's license plate when you check in for parking purposes."

"This cozy inn is just 2.5 miles from downtown Ojai and offers a quieter experience where the grounds feels like someone’s well appointed backyard, complete with a sweet pool area and lots of flora. The buildings are Spanish style, and our room (#8) was a perfect second story, little apartment. Not new by any means, but well appointed, attractive, spotless, and very comfortable. There’s a resident cat who enjoys a nap on the patio furniture for this unit, so keep that in mind. We really enjoyed her, but if you don’t like cats, you may want to secure a different room. Overall, we loved the accommodation and would definitely come back."

"I decided on the Ojai Retreat and Inn instead of a traditional hotel setting. We were so glad we made this choice, as the property is beautiful and serene with the mountains as a backdrop. We absolutely loved the waterfall meditation garden. The whole property is so great! They offered a continental breakfast, free self-parking, and had a spacious, quiet room for reading. All in all, hands down a five-star experience. I will definitely be back!"

"Bed was really comfortable! The place was quiet and clean. I would go back however, when we we’re loading the car to leave I was still in the room and someone that lived in the main house slammed the gate to the room! Just thought that was slightly odd and rude???"

"The interior of the house was well decorated, clean and comfortable. We had a problem with the shower in the smaller bathroom; the owner fixed it promptly but it was difficult to use, so we used the nicer shower in the primary bedroom which was lovely and more accessible for our age group (octogenarians). We would have appreciated a microwave in the kitchen, and the Teflon on the pots was wearing off or the pots were dirty. The coffee maker worked well and was well stocked. (Sally even brought us more.) The garden is stunning and truly the jewel of the place. We enjoyed the outdoor furniture and picked oranges from the tree to squeeze fresh juice. The juicer was a treat to have. It would be helpful to have written instructions on how to use the heating/AC unit, oven, and a list of local restaurants and places to visit. Also, tissues in the bathroom would be a nice touch. Other VRBOs we have used prepare a binder with this information for guests.The parking in front was very helpful and accessible (we use canes and one of us uses a walker.) We had no problems with accessibility issues.I would recommend the house to others."
