"Shelley and Clark's home is absolutely beautiful! We were in town for our son's wedding and stayed here with all of our family and 2 small grandchildren. We had plenty of space to spread out, bathrooms for everyone, a kitchen stocked with everything we needed to cook and prepare meals, and comfortable beds. The yard is amazing and the little ones as well as my adult sons had a blast playing outside. We didn't get a chance to use the inviting pool unfortunately since it was a busy wedding weekend but hope to return soon to take advantage of it! Shelley and Clark are excellent hosts and I would highly recommend staying at this incredible home."

"Our entire family — three generations — is still raving about the fantastic and memorable stay we had at Wheeler Ranch.The serene setting, surrounded by nature and animals, made it the perfect place to relax, recharge, and spend quality time with family and friends. The guest house and barn were absolutely wonderful — warm and welcoming, cozy yet spacious enough to allow for privacy when needed. The beautiful, comfortable bedrooms and inviting family room practically begged us to gather together and enjoy everything the space had to offer.There was no shortage of entertainment either. Chess, checkers, cards, board games, a piano, and even a guitar were all available for us to enjoy. The kitchen was exceptionally well stocked for a large family, and the water dispenser was an especially convenient touch.We were also pleasantly surprised to find freshly baked cookies on the counter and beverages waiting in the fridge. Such thoughtful details made it truly feel like coming home.Marianne and Vito are wonderful, attentive hosts who made sure our stay was nothing short of unforgettable.The outdoor pool, hot tub, and basketball court were an added bonus, and we loved taking daily walks to visit the nearby horses, donkeys, goats, and ducks. There were multiple hiking trails right from the ranch, and when we felt like exploring, both the beach and Ojai were just a short drive away.It truly is a magical place. We all agreed that we will absolutely be back!"

Luxurious 6-bedroom nature retreat in charming Camarillo

"Heron's Rest is a wonderful property and a tremendous value. That might initially seem at odds with the upscale price-point that this home commands, but there is a LOT going on. We came here for the weekend to celebrate a graduation and had 14 people spending the night and approximately 20 additional guests during the day. Upon arrival we were immediately impressed with the scale of the home and the detailed landscaping in the backyard. Inside, the rooms are nicely sized and there was no problem figuring out sleeping placement for the overnight guests. Outside there are MANY delightful places to sit and socialize. At no point did it seem crowded and it allowed everyone to spread out and not get on each other's nerves! We had several large meals and between the formal dining and outside dining areas, we were able to plate the meals together so that everyone was able to enjoy their food at the same time. We had a family video that everyone enjoyed on the large smart TV located in the theater room. Lots of small details...many bags of ice in the freezer, a pantry full of appliances such as a blender, Kitchen-Aid mixer, espresso machine, chaffing dishes, service for 50, lots of barware...much more than we expected. We bought some things we thought we'd need, but really only used our own sous vide and rice cooker. Bathrooms had cups and bottled water, plenty of linens, etc. Property was very clean inside with quality fixtures and finishes. Meticulously landscaped outside. A++++"

"My husband and I booked two nights at the Santa Paula Inn, a small historic hotel located right in downtown Santa Paula. The location is excellent — close to Main Street and within easy walking distance of restaurants and shops. The staff was very friendly, and the property looks like it has been recently renovated and freshly painted. There are nice updates throughout, and the little garden patio is a pleasant place to sit. We booked a room with two queen‑size beds, but the room itself was quite small, and the bed we slept in was definitely not a queen. It was a standard double, which made it uncomfortable, especially with my husband being a larger man (6ft 4). The mattress itself was also extremely uncomfortable and left both of us with back pain. Once we settled in, we noticed several maintenance and cleanliness issues. The bathroom tile walls hadn’t been cleaned, my husband was able to scrape dirt off with his fingernail. The electrical outlets were old, mismatched, and in poor condition as the plugs wouldn't hold a plug. The toilet had a standard bowl with an elongated seat that didn’t fit properly, the bolts were rusted and there was a ring. at the base, The ceiling fan wobbled violently ast he blades were unbalanced, and it made a loud clicking sound at night. The continental breakfast was disappointing. There were a few tiny muffins, almost‑empty orange juice, and a single slice of bread left. It didn’t appear that anyone monitored or refreshed the breakfast"
