"The cottage is very nice. It is on two levels, the kitchen/dining is down quite a steep staircase that I found difficult to negotiate. I'm nearly 70 and my daughter fast approaching 50, so not spring chickens! If you want to use the sofa as a bed there is a 35 pound charge for linen that isn't made clear when booking. We both slept in the one bed which was fine. Extra charges should be mAde clear on booking and the fact it only has one bedroom was disappointing. Otherwise nice place if somewhat...

"This was a wonderful cottage and a beautiful setting. It was extremely clean and well equipped. The owner was delightful and very helpful.It should be noted that there is no dryer or hot tub. But there was a rack to dry clothes on and they dried quickly. Also, you need to take your own bath soap. It was very up-to-date and the view from your window was gorgeous. Lambs scampering about and a beautiful view of the valley. We were extremely happy with our location."

Clean apartment, some initial struggle with the front door key ‘technique’ but the video was helpful, could’ve done with a few more kitchen utensils / oven trays for self catering. "LOVED IT! We loved everything about our stay at 1 Bellevue Terrace. The location is great, quiet and residential, yet just a ten minute walk to the Royal Mile. The apartment is beautiful, just like a place that a character from a Hallmark movie would live in! And a Christmas tree! What a nice touch! The owners were 100% responsive, before, during, and after our stay. Stay here, you will love it as much as we did!"

"The cottage was clean, well appointed and made for a pleasant stay. It is in the heart of the village with food and coffee shops very close by, and just a short walk to the local pub. The beach is 10 minutes walk away, and Gullane is a lovely spot to explore from. "

"The rooms all have large beautiful windows and we appreciated all the day light. It is a relatively quiet neighborhood with many shops and dining options. The apartment had a well stocked kitchen and there is a food market right next to the building which was so convenient. We were in the apartment for 9 days during the Fringe which was wonderful. "

Only issue was high back chair that was damaged with no note to say it had been noticed and or reported, we emailed Cottages.com but no reply ! "Very modern & clean. Also quiet. Bed very comfortable. Kitchen was convenient. Great location; walking distance to train station, Holyrood Castle & Edinburgh Castle. Easy bus ride to HMY Britannia. A few minor problems: no egg flipper in kitchen, no can opener, and no notice that heated towel racks out of order in whole building (had to ask at front desk after having tried unsuccessfully for some time to get it to work). I would definitely recommend this hotel. "
