Leonardo Hotel Edinburgh Haymarket

Leonardo Hotel Edinburgh Haymarket

10/10 Excellent
"Hotel was very clean, friendly and helpful staff. We chose to have breakfast included many options and food selection. On one morning we scheduled an early morning tour the staff prepared a to go box for our excursion. Hotel was close to some other good dining options. Close to bus stop and train station. Overall really enjoyed our stay."

"As a solo traveler on this trip to Edinburgh, the hotel worked well for me. Although the room was small, it was efficient and clean. I found it to be comfortable for a two night stay. My single room didn’t have a window; however, the room did have a window-like light panel that simulated day light and I was fine with this should you get an interior facing room. The location is close many sites and I walked all around old town. I stayed during the Fringe Festival and walked to many shows around the city. There are two self check-in screens when you arrive; however if you book through third party site (like Expedia) then you need to check in with the staff. The staff is busy running the desk and the cafe simultaneously, but there is a buzzer on the staff desk to page them when you need them. After hours, use your key to access the hotel putter door, the lobby door, and the elevator. The hotel was safe and secure and also had security after hours, but the area felt safe with lots of bars, restaurants and shopping as well. I would stay again if traveling solo."

"Really wonderful location and the staff were great. The room was super comfortable and the bed and pillow and shower were all great. However the room was smaller than expected and a bit dark and dingy. However it had everything we needed and as it was so comfy highly likely to stay again .."

8/10 Good
"Location is terrific, easy walk to many places in Edinburgh. Whether you enter hotel from the corner or the side you are hit with stairs - early 70's and this would be a deterrent from booking again. We tried for early check in (both by written request the prior week and at 9:30 am the morning of check in) and did not get in until the 3 pm check in time despite sitting in lobby for 2 hours and watching 30-40 people check in early. Additionally, we paid an upcharge for a "view" - we could see some patches of green through small openings in trees, and then we could see a building full of scaffolding through the treetops, across the railyard. Guess I needed a definition of what constitutes a "view". Left our stay feeling ripped off."

"Good for the price, although during the Festival it is considerably more expensive than when I tried it out for 1 night about 4 months ago. My only niggle is, could have more room in the shower, or a sliding door so one part of the area can stay dry. You will get your clothes wet from the floor when getting dressed"
