Nowadays, the warmermonths from June to September are still the most visited by tourists and canget very crowded.TheAtlantic City Boardwalk is the small city’s main entertainment precinct. It’swhere you’ll find Steel Pier, an amusement park on the waterfront, and thehistoric Boardwalk Hall. Atlantic City is famous for its casino resorts and itsforeshore has plenty of bars and fine-dining options.

Learn about localhistory at the Absecon Lighthouse. Follow the coast south to Margate to visitLucy the Elephant. This delightful structure from 1881 has become a symbol ofthe Jersey coast. Kids will also love the amusement parks, such as Gillian'sWonderland Pier in Ocean City and Raging Waters in Wildwood.

Atlantic City isconnected to the mainland by road. It’s easy to get there by car and you canalso go by train or bus. In the city, public transport is affordable and“jitney” buses run parallel to the boardwalk and to and from other major hubs.The Atlantic City International Airport is a 20-minute drive from downtown andthe well-connected Philadelphia International Airport is just over an houraway.

Atlantic City hasbeen a popular destination for vacationers for over 150 years, and its livelywaterfront precinct is a fun place for a long weekend on the New Jerseycoastline.
