"Location was off the main areas so it was nice not having to be in the thick of it all. I enjoyed the peaceful walk back after a long day. Staff were smiley, welcoming, and helpful. I appreciated the laundry room as we used it twice. We added The breakfast buffet daily to our stay and I don’t regret it. Taking the stress out of worrying where to go for breakfast. It was a generous spread of all the greats. My fave was the coffee juice bar OH and the bakery items. Rooms were small yet functional and most of all clean. Service was great and I would highly recommend this place."

"The hotel is extremely well situated, close to two metro stops as well as numerous restaurants and shopping. It’s is also very close to Ueno Park and the Sensoji Shrine. The room was clean and perfect for a few nights in Tokyo. The breakfast option was convenient and tasty. The staff were extremely polite and helpful when ordering a taxi for the airport."

"The hotel overall is not bad, but I've stayed in numerous other hotels in Tokyo and wouldn't choose to stay here again. The location of the hotel is very close to Ueno station, and some smaller stations as well, which is convenient. The rooms are similar to other similarly priced hotels in Japan in terms of size and amenities. Towels are replaced daily. I had a couple of problems with this hotel that lead me to review it a lower. - There was a drain smell in the room all of the time. This seems to be a problem with the hotel as my friend experienced the same issue in their room too. - You have to pay 1000 yen per item to store your luggage after 2PM. This wasn't something that we were aware of when booking the hotel. I haven't stayed in any hotel before where they charge for this (in any country, but I have stayed in lots of different hotels in Japan and never had this), and probably wouldn't have stayed here having known this. - One of the cups I received after my room being cleaned was dirty with stains and a bit of food inside. - One of the 'clean' towels I received had a mark on it. Based on the above, I can't give the hotel a higher score. I think they need to work on the cleanliness, sort out the drains and offer free luggage storage until the end of the day you check-out, as standard in most hotels. "

"The staff could not have been more helpful. The hotel was very clean. The Western-style breakfast was excellent, and it is very well located if you like to be a little out of the hubbub but near the train, restaurants, commercial area and beautiful park. "

"I visit Japan regularly and having arrived in Tokyo this hotel is welcome pitstop that ticks all the boxes as a tourist. Clean, small rooms very thoughtfully designed with the traveller in mind. Despite other reviews stating that the air conditioning is centrally controlled throughout the property this is not the case. There is a control panel built in to the bed headboard, and along with the room lighting dimmer switches there is a touch panel that controls the in-room temperature and air-conditioning fan speed. Breakfast buffet is fine, served in a small Izakaya attached to reception. Will stay again."
