The welcome I received changed all of that. They took me straight to my room and gave me tea and treated me like I was part of their family. I had the best meal of my time in Japan at this inn. "The service was great and really appreciated the transport service from the station to the property. The only thing is the property is a bit dated and could use an uplift soon"

"The property is outstanding and the staff are very willing to help if you are amenable to no chairs in the room and only sitting on the floor. Also the room has no shower, so you either must use shower during your private time or if you miss you time slot you have no choice but to use it during public time. For ladies two showers, so at worse you will share with one other person."

"I wanted to experience staying at a traditional ryokan on my first Japan trip, so chose this ryokan after doing much research. We stayed in room 301 which had a private open air onsen. The bath and separate shower were both very clean, the Shiseido shampoo and conditioner provided were wonderful, and the private onsen divine. I used it several times during my one night stay. "Fabulous. Could not have been better. Across the street from the tourist office and within walking distance of all the gorgeous shrines, museums, and historic points of interest. Also easily walked to very special restaurants after using the hot baths. Most important, the staff could not have been more wonderful. They went above and beyond on every occasion — including escorting us to our cab with umbrellas in the rain. Our favorite so far. "
