"First night there was no hot water. I called downstairs to ask if there is a hot water guy said: “Yeah, we sometimes don't have a hot water, anything else?”"

"The hotel is set up where the lobby is on the 9th floor, but you enter at the first and go up. There was always a doorman sitting at the desk inside the door and always friendly. The hotel and room were very clean, and tastefully decorated. The credenza that you often see below a tv was near the window and was incredibly hard to get into the refrigerator due to the door hitting the bed. We had two suitcases and there was only one bench near the credenza, the other had to be opened on the floor. The water pressure was horrible! It pulsed with an on/off type pressure. Overall all was fine. Nice staff, clean hotel, good location. What will stick with me is having someone enter my room with their own key. He didn’t speak English and through a translator app apologized. The front desk claimed he was an employee and they thought my room was empty, but I was rattled after that. I wasn’t sure how they could’ve made it better, I just knew I felt incredibly uneasy about the fact someone had entered my room. I was traveling with my kids without my husband. I felt very vulnerable. The front desk appeared to understand and offered to comp my night because a room change wasn’t possible due to being sold out, but they never followed through. This is the second time in 2026 my family has stayed here, and I will be in the Chicago area several times a year going forward, but unlikely I will stay here ever again."

"The room didn’t feel clean. The shower drain was clogged so the water just pooled. One of the 3 sinks randomly bubbled up and spit out black dirty water. The pipe that was exposed in the bedroom was leaking sewer water. The elevator buttons didn’t work. Overall this hotel is just run down but the staff was very friendly and sympathetic to the issues I was experiencing"

"It was an awesome location, clean, and vintage, which I really loved. Walking you will have to go north to everything which is no more than a 20 minute walk. I didn’t use the bar so I can’t rate that. I didn’t like that there wasn’t a pool but overall service was great. I would definitely stay again and recommend to others. No ghosts!"

"I think the biggest drawback was the time to receive a service here. One night it took 4.5 hours for the service desk to connect to house cleaning to provide fresh bedding thus delaying our ability to get a good night’s sleep. The check-in line at night could be up to two hours to get checked in for new guests. We had to find our own clean towels daily."
