"VFI is very close to Volcano National Park and it was the main reason why we chose to stay here. The house is nestled in the rainforest with a short drive from the main road so its very quiet. Our room is spacious with many windows facing the rainforest and a big patio. Our room is comfortable and pleasant. We stayed 4 nights and enjoyed it very much. The host, Jon, is also a very nice guy and approachable. Breakfast is a grab and go and has plenty of fresh fruits which is a bonus! "

"This is a fantastic spot if you’re spending time at Volcanoes National Park. Shannon and her husband were great hosts. The room was very nice and had a water fall feature that really added to the ambiance and enhanced our experience there. They had e-bikes available that gave us a unique experience in the park. Wish we had spent 2 nights. "

"We loved our stay here. We only stayed one night because we had other places to explore on the island, but we would have loved to spend more time at Barbara's residence. It's a very peaceful place with lush vegetation and soothing decor. We spent the night in the Lomilomi room, which was beautifully decorated (refined, harmonious, serene) and spacious. We arrived in the evening, but in the morning we were able to enjoy the superb view of the sea and the cliffs in the distance from the room. Every detail has been taken care of, making you want to stay. I've never had the opportunity to sleep in this kind of unusual room before. On top of that, we slept very well, the bedding is very good. You can hear the faint sound of frogs, but it doesn't bother you at all, and if it does, earplugs are provided. I actually found it very pleasant. The icing on the cake was the excellent and varied breakfast prepared by the team, which you can enjoy on a beautiful terrace while admiring the view. "We didn't get a chance to try the hot tub but the grounds are beautiful and all staff at lodge and restaurant were kind and helpful. Food was delicious and proximity to Kilauea volcano sights was super convenient. Hope to come back again soon!"

"We checked in on the 1st of December and arrived around 8 p.m. Our keys and packet were waiting for us at the kiosk with no issues. Our room was amazing—quiet, convenient, and clean. The property was clean as well. We messaged for room service, and they came with no issues. Extra amenities were available in the lobby too. We were there for six nights, and I will definitely be staying again. I would recommend checking in before dark—the road is kind of tricky to find."
