"My stay at Amway was so-so. When I checked in at the hotel, my room was not selected prior and staff informed me that if I still wanted a king bed, I wouldn't have the greatest view. I made a reservation and indicated in my notes that I wanted a great view and paid for the river view room style. We received a room with 2 queen beds for us to get a great river view which was fine, but I noticed that the notes I wrote wasn't viewed because I also was near an elevator and that was indicated in my notes that I didn't want to be next to an elevator. I went back to the front desk the following day and asked about how parking worked regarding using my key on the day of checkout which I thought would have been told during check in. The room was nice but the toilet is extremely loud when you flush and for a place to be upscale, I would think this wouldn't be an issue. I visited IDC Speakeasy inside the hotel and there was a wedding party in there so the space was limited and loud for it to be a speakeasy. I think this will be a place that I would visit and utilize the amenities but not a place I would stay at in the near future."

"Spacious rooms, great stay. The rooms were clean and fresh and the lobby was beautiful. The pool and hot tub were great, though the hot tub chemicals must have been off a bit because my husband left with a chemical rash after a few sessions in the hot tub. We were a smidge disappointed with the TV-viewing experience. It kept getting pixelated, like the early '00s digital TV, which was disappointing while watching March Madness. There were a few missed plays and calls that didn't make sense because of the skipping picture. Overall though, recommend. We'll be back for sure!"

"This is my 3rd time staying at this hotel and what keeps me coming back is the fact that the rooms are clean, the lobby is comfortable, and the breakfast has a wide variety of options, including fresh fruit. The staff has always been pleasant and easy to communicate with. The hotel is in a great location with easy access to shopping, dining, freeways, and only 15 minutes for downtown Grand Rapids. This visit was different because we came back from dinner one night to find that the battery in our lock had gone dead and we were locked out of our room. It took over an hour for the problem to be resolved, and the 2 staff members at the front desk were very ill-equipped to deal with the issue, having to call someone from another hotel to help fix the problem. There was no manager on site, and while the staff was very polite and empathic, I am concerned that there was not a better plan of action for this type of situation. The issue was a large disruption to my evening plans, and I hope the staff gets more training on these types of issues."

"We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. They even reached out by text to see if we had any questions or needs.The rooms were clean when we arrived and cleaned the next day while we were out and about. There is no microwave or refrigerator in the room. However, there is a microwave next to the ice machine on each floor. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet however it does cost $15 a person. "
