"Top notch fitness facilities and a wonderful sense of history make any stay at the Claremont resort a special one. Staff is attentive and professional. Housekeeping is wonderful. Some of the common areas need a bit of attention (dirty carpets, stuffed chairs needed some attention), and there is some deferred maintenance in the rooms (peeling wallpaper, small tear in bench upholstery), but we absolutely love this place overall, and it remains one of our favorite destinations for a staycation in the greater Bay Area."
"Large room with seating area and fireplace! The grounds were so clean and the area was peaceful and relaxing. Loved the $40 per day breakfast credit. The food quality was wonderful! Loved enjoying the fire pit with the glass of wine and they also give you a welcome drink when you check in. The Staff were all very nice and accommodating. Great place! Very pleased with our selection!"
"I really wanted to love my stay here but I was disappointed. First I arrived from a long drive to the computer system being down. So the line was backed up to check in. They did give me a $50 voucher so that was nice. I paid for a king room at the Reserve which ended up being in the building across the street from the main entrance. Check-in gave me a map telling me the specific numbered points to go to get to my room. But when I drove back there to park and walked to that specific location, the numbered points on the site map were different than the ones on the paper map she gave me. So it was very confusing. I had to get help from an elevator service guy. The rooms are in a U-Shape and mine was on the polar opposite end of the building that happened to be right next to an outdoor speaker to the rooftop terrace that I had the pleasure of hearing all night until it turned off at 11 PM. Fun for entertaining guests outside, but not for those trying to sleep. I tried making reservations to the spa and Ember steakhouse. Entirely booked. So make sure to reserve in advance. I was forced to order room service which cost me $150 for steak, potatoes and water. And to top it off, the bathroom sink was fully clogged. For $500 a night, do better Meritage. "
