Pros: - Excellent location right in Beverly Hills, about 5-minute walking distance from Beverly Dr and Rodeo Dr. - Affordable room rate, considering the location in Beverly Hills - Spacious room - Renovated bathroom, with Japanese-style toilet (water jet, etc.) - Very comfortable bed - Front desk staff member Monica is outstanding; very customer-focused and helpful (unlike some of her colleagues) Cons: - Hotel is dark and uninviting, needs a complete makeover - No restaurant in hotel - Paint inside room is dated and needs a good refresh - Flooring in hallways is being renovated, causing noise - Despite having been renovated, the bathroom is quite dark and the room in general is not inviting - Mini-fridge in my room was very noisy at night and prevented me from sleeping until I unplugged it. All in all, good value if you want to stay in the heart of Beverly Hills, but if you’re looking for feeling cozy in your room and having a restful night, this might not be for you.

Clean Room, welcoming staff, Breakfast and dinner optiosn are limited but high quality in the rooftop bar, very business friendly with proximity to Moscone, the rooftop bar, and Coffee bar in the lobby, plenty of meet up and social engagement opportunities.

We were pleasantly pleased with this quaint historic building that is the Hotel Julian. The room was clean and spacious. The lower floors do not have very good views from the windows because of the tall buildings next door, so if you are claustrophobic, definitely try to get floors on the fourth or higher levels. We were on the 5th floor. For the reasonable price we paid for the room this hotel is fabulous! Parking in San Francisco is difficult, luckily there’s a very reliable parking garage up the street (on Sutter…a two minute walk). Take into account that this adds another $30-$50 a day to your room cost. The location of the hotel can’t be beat! It’s close to Union Square (10 min walk), Knob Hill, Chinatown and even the wharf is reasonably close if you like the exercise (1.6 miles). We felt very safe walking, but just be aware of your surroundings because it does borderline the Tenderloin district. Also, catching an Uber in this town is very easy from the Hotel Julian location. We would definitely stay here again!
