Hyatt Place Champaign-Urbana

8/10 Good
"We arrived on a busy “move-in” weekend so we knew it would be packed. (Side note: we were NOT there to move anyone in to the dorms). Parking is super convenient. It is not free - it was $15/day for us but 100% worth it because the hotel is right in the middle of bars and restaurants within walking distance. The room was spacious and very clean. Decent view of downtown. Nice sitting area which worked well for us because we had a couple of video meetings and paperwork. WiFi is strong. The breakfast was included for our stay. But the hotel was so busy there was no place to sit. The hot food had gotten cold and it was just so crowded. The staff was hustling to keep up with demand; this isn’t a criticism of them. It was just slammed, and that wasn’t a surprise. Move-in weekend happens every year. There’s a bar next door called Punch. Yes. Go there. Buy the wacky themed cocktails. Splurge on the funky drinks. Worth it and you can take the drinks back to your room. All in all a pleasant stay. 4/5 ⭐️ would recommend."
