"If you enjoy a well restored classic, vintage place this is it. The location was perfect for walking. Close by are shops, dining, and attractions such as museums. The interior is very well done as that it kept all of the charm without sacrificing comfort. The kitchen is cozy with everything anyone could need to make a meal. A sitting room is a pleasant space to relax if traveling with other people. I told my husband I would buy this place in a heartbeat. A lovely experience."

"Nice place to stay and very convenient. Room was equipped with a small fridge and Keurig coffee maker. King bed was very comfortable. Added bonus of breakfast included, which had a variety of both hot and cold choices. Easy walk right across the promenade to the beach or stroll along the prom to visit the aquarium, which is right next door, or continue on to see all the quaint shops in town. Perfect location for a wonderful stay in Seaside!"

"Location is excellent if you want to spend time in the heart of Astoria. You're steps away from the boardwalk and several restaurants and bars/breweries. The hotel is pretty well maintained, although it is older (but has a certain charm to it). I realized that I rarely stay at a place without A/C, so that was the biggest challenge. As others have mentioned, if you try to open your windows to get fresh air in, it's really noisy on the street. The only time Astoria feels (sounds) like a big city is when you're trying to sleep with the window open. There's a reason they leave earplugs on the nightstand. The bathroom also showed its age a bit, although the shower worked well. It was odd having a nearly empty bottle of Soft Soap on the sink, but it got the job done. The lobby restaurant looked really nice, and was busy for breakfast, but I did not try it. I can see why people enjoy this hotel and its location, but I think the lack of A/C coupled with the inability to have the windows open made it just a little too uncomfortable for me considering the price."

"Overall, this really was a great hotel experience. It seems it’s mostly a hostel but has a few hotel rooms with their own showers; we got a king bedroom with our own shower. It worked out great. The shower / bathroom was great and it was well decorated. The front desk staff were very kind and friendly on arrival and when we left. If you have any mobility challenge, this is not the place for you as you have to climb some stairs. The bed is fairly firm, but not hard per se. Street parking was very easy, but I think there’s a lot nearby, as well. The place is historic with a lot of charm, but if you’re a light sleeper, there may be some noise from the street (they do provide ear plugs; old historic windows) and the curtains allow a fair amount of light around them, so it’s a bit bright even at night which made it hard for me to sleep. I would certainly recommend this place if you’re not a light sleeper; if you are, bring a beauty mask to sleep with and be prepared to potentially wear ear plugs."
