Clean room, housekeeper didn’t want to give new towels

GREAT time for us, wonderful staff & beautiful views. A truly Peaceful resort in Illinois.

We arrived into town at 7pm and were told that the room was not ready. We waited for 3 hours in the lobby for it to be ready. The email I received prior to checking in said that I can check in to our room anytime after 3pm. My son and I needed to get up very early the next morning, so this was extremely frustrating. In addition, when we finally got our room, we opened the door to find only one king bed, even though we had prepaid for a room with 2 doubles. After chatting with the front desk, they informed us there was not a roll away available nor another room with 2 beds, so our option was an additonal room with a king bed, which was very kind to offer, but my son is 15 and I was not thrilled about him sleeping 2 floors above on his own. In addition, the television in the room did not work and the shades were broken, falling off the wall, so there was no privacy from the outside. Lastly, the pool was under construction and this was not told to us prior to check in.

The room was comfortable and the staff were very friendly. The location is near many of the attractions we visited! I would stay here again in the future.
